Ruud Sies was born in the Netherlands in 1957. Having begun his career as a photographer, he soon ended up in advertising as an art director with several international agencies. After running an agency for 15 years, he took a sabbatical and travelled through the United States with his family for a year, which resulted in the series ‘God Bless America’ and ‘It’s Spring
and I’m blind’.
After returning to the Netherlands in 2006, Ruud decided to devote himself to photography again. He works with Hanneke van Hintum on long-term photography projects and autonomous assignments.
